Abstract
The basic objective of this research is to find out if and to what amount students at the Polytechnic of Rijeka are committed to their studies in terms of organization. Organizational commitment has a significant impact on academic success and participation in student associations and bodies, as well as developing the sense of belonging to an institution of higher education and on building up the sense of social usefulness which contributes to professional development. Empirical research was conducted by survey at the Polytechnic of Rijeka in 2014/2015. 52 students of specialized studies of entreprenuership were included in the poll, among them 14 (23%) male and 38 (77%) female. Research results indicate that an affective (emotional) commitment is below the average, while a continuous commitment is above the average. This means that students are willing to complete their studies at the Polytechnic of Rijeka, but only because they believe that studying at another institution would probably be more problematic and complicated.
Key words: organizational commitment, specialized studies, students
